Greetings to you all! This last weekend was another example of how different two nights can be. Now I’m not superstitious and I’ve never had a bad Friday the 13th before, but I must say that this one pushed it. Fortunately nothing tragic happened, just a lot of little things to raise my general level of annoyance with the world. The crowd also seemed to be in their own little space, as if to acknowledge someone else’s presence would immediately render them vulnerable to attack by bad spirits.
Saturday night, however, was an absolute blast. We had a fantastic crowd and everyone was getting the point of the evening, which of course is to have as much fun as is legally possible in a public setting. Here is a slightly blurry (sorry, it’s the best I had) pic from that evening.
Last night I was fortunate to obtain a ticket to go see The Frames at First Ave with Jodyth (Thank you!). They are a band from Ireland fronted by Glen Hansard, who appeared in the move “The Commitments.” It was a great show and I really enjoyed hearing some new live music. I’ll have to get my hands on some of their CD’s as soon as I can justify the expenditure.
Lastly, I thought I would introduce you to my family and put some other faces with my own. Here is a picture taken just after our last decent snowfall and some serious sledding. Dylan (right) is 10, Devin (middle with goofy look ….kids) is 8 and JoHanna (left) is 4. They are as wonderful and amazing as they look.

groan… Danth… that was terrible. I love it. I also realized my post about your gruesome poetry was erased so… I LOVE THE HAIKUS!!!! I just about lost it… they had me rolling on the floor with laughter.
Paul, glad you had a great time with Jodyth. Sorry to hear about the bad vibes on Friday the 13th. I am happy to hear it picked up on Sat. Your family is lovely Paul. Congrats on them. Thanks for the pix.

Thanks Spacedlaw, I am trying to get used to my new camera so I understand how to take decent pictures in various settings. I ended up with two or three nice ones. You live in Italy? I loved visiting there and have to get back one of these years, but I’ll be off to Ireland first.

Well, Paul, I can’t speak for the folks at the front table, but I was definitely slightly blurry by that time
My nieces are college-age now, but still prefer to make goofy faces when being photographed by relatives. I think it’s encoded somewhere in that 90some percent of our DNA that we share with chimps.
